We need one generalist physician and one PA who would be willing to volunteer each Friday morning from 7 am to 9 am.   The Southside Medical Clinic under the direction of Dr Tom Hinson serves the Southside community, seeing  around 20 patients each week.  More information contact Pastor Kent at 714-5475  or 409-5891 or email

Day School

 

Needed:

4-6 volunteers to teach ESL/ESP (English for a Specific Purpose) one night a week as a part of ministries through Southside. Classes will focus on learning conversational English related to everyday activities. No teaching experience necessary; training and materials are provided. mission - frogSouthside is in need of Christian people who have a love for children (FROG). You will need to attend an Orientation/Workers meeting and fill out a volunteer/screening application which will include at least three references. Volunteers must be at least Ninth grade. It is important that everyone  attend the  August 11 meeting, so we can know how many workers. Any questions email Violet Smith

International World Changers

A pre-packaged, hands-on missions experience for students working directly with International World Changers (IWC) staff and International Mission Board field personnel.

 


Prayerwalking teams – Members in twos or threes are out every week praying over the homes, businesses and streets in Southside Winston-Salem.  To sign up to be on a team go to www.calvarynow.com/prayer 

 

FROG (Fully Relying on God) Children’s ministry at Southside Baptist Church every Monday and Thursday from 6:15 – 8:30 p.m.  Needed are homework helpers for children age 5 – 12 that come from economically disadvantaged homes; volunteers are needed to help lead Bible studies, prepare and serve meals and transport children.  For more info contact Missions' Office 336.714.5455

ENGLISH as a SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) – This will be offered to non-English speakers such as the Hispanic parents of our FROG children weekly on Mondays.  If interested in teaching or assisting contact Missions' Office 336.714.5455.

 

Spanish Bible Study every Thursday at Southside Baptist Church led by Aldo Barcelo, Pastor of Hispanic Ministries from Calvary.  Invite your Spanish speaking friends, neighbors and coworkers.  For more info contact Pastor Aldo at abarcelo@calvarystaff.com or 714-5572. 



Calvary Deaf Ministry - Our outreach to the Deaf community is expanding to the 7 county areas and beyond.  We are exploring the possibility of an outreach downtown area of Winston-Salem.  Also, please pray about and consider your involvement (hearing or deaf) in our new Bible Study in the Raleigh area which begins in June.
